The assessment tool, and a manual on how to use it, were created in response to the need to consider climate crisis in participatory spatial planning processes. It helps to examine the potential of a given place for climate change adaptation.
It allows for diagnosing which parts of the city are most exposed to the risks associated with the climate crisis and what short- and long-term solutions can be introduced. It allows the local community or experts to assess a selected space – e.g. a square, a street, a block, a district, or even a larger area.
The assessment tool can be used during public consultations or expert workshops. A participatory workshop can be built around the tool or it can be one of many tools/methods used in the process of co-creating space.
The form was developed by Agnieszka Czachowska, with the support of other people from the Foundation team, as part of an implementation doctorate at the Silesian University of Technology.
